  • Hours of work: 08:30 – 17:00
  • Place of work: Office-based, Stevenage

Main Purpose of Job:

To identify prospects and develop new business leads via telephone and other forms of communication such as email and build customer interest in services and products offered by MIAB.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Contact existing customers and/or prospects to collate insurance renewal dates in a compliant manner
  • Database management of prospective clients  
  • Cross selling of products from MIAB's portfolio to clients where appropriate
  • Maintain comprehensive, clear and concise records of any actions taken and telephone conversations
  • Adhere to MIAB’s internal policies and procedures

Required Skills:

  • Excel, Outlook and Word competent
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Ability to work to individual and team targets
  • Team player
  • Ability to overcome objections in a compliant manner
  • Ability to work independently, using personal judgement while operating within specific guidelines
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload
  • Outstanding and effective communication skills
  • Ongoing in house training provided

Main Purpose of Job:

To work as part of the New Business and Renewals Team in providing quotations, providing expert advice and binding cover for MIAB’s existing & new customer base. Build and maintain your own pipeline in order to successfully meet the targets which have been set by the Exec. Must be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service and adhere to Company and trade regulations at all times. Develop good working relationships between departments and your peers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Preparing, issuing and reviewing new business documentation to direct clients
  • Undertaking telephone-based quotes with prospective clients (approximately 6-8 per day)
  • Follow up calls to clients to chase decisions, progress of quote etc
  • Overcoming objections and promoting the key selling features of the MIAB products
  • Minor levels of administration and issue of New Business/Renewals documentation
  • Cross-selling of products from MIAB’s portfolio to clients where appropriate
  • Answering telephone based policy enquiries from existing clients
  • Liaising with underwriters and insurers to negotiate the best possible terms for clients
  • Operating under delegated authority from insurers
  • Being the first point of contact for your existing clients, acting as client liaison.
  • Database management of prospective and converted leads

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) grade C in English and Maths
  • Excel, Outlook and Word competent
  • Basic understanding of the insurance market
  • Professional telephone manner with experience
  • Target centric with the ability to balance business targets, cautious underwriting and client needs
  • Ability to overcome objections
  • Previous Account Management experience (Essential)
  • Team player but with the ability to work independently, using personal judgement whilst operating within specific guidelines when reviewing underwriting terms and premiums
  • Can demonstrate honesty and integrity and the ability to place the customer at the heart of everything you do
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload
  • A good understanding of the commercial insurance industry (Desirable)
  • Cert CII qualified or higher (Desirable)
  • Understanding of the medical insurance sector and associated products (Desirable)
